Liberated!
I’m going to attempt to explain this, hopefully it makes some sense. In 1 Peter 1:16 it says “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” I like to think of this invitaion to be holy as an invitation to be free. Free from sin and life without restraint. What does that look like? It looks like Revelation 4:8- And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and they do not cease to say, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.” (I’m not saying the four living creatures are going to worship me.)
God is Holy. He is totally other than. He is not restrained by anything or anyone. He is completely free from restraint. Nothing can hold Him back, nothing can bring Him down. He is not bound by sin. So the invitation in 1 Peter is to be holy or to be free from sin. God has called us to live in freedom. He has called us to be liberated from bondage. He has given us opportunity to experience what He feels in being Holy. Oh what an awesome invitation! Who is He that He wants us to be like Him? Who is He that He would allow us, weak and broken, to experience His pleasure of being free? Not only does He invite us to do this, He gives us the ability to actually walk in it! His grace is enough! I want to experience this in full. I don’t want to settle for less than what He has given me.

Shaba! Good word bro, I’m so thanful for the Holy Spirit that teaches ua this stuff, amen!
It is the same thing as Romans, we have been given the opportunity to live just as Christ did. Which in essence we have been given the opportunity to live free from all sin because of Christ, the question is are we able to? The answer… NO! Due to the fact that it is in our nature to sin. That is why the grace of God is amazing!
