What Entertains You?

How much t.v. do you watch in a week? How many movies do you watch a week? How much time do you spend eating out a week? How much money do you spend on entertainment in a week? If we were to honestly answers all these questions, we would probably be suprised and annoyed with ourselves. We are a people who must be entertained constantly. We are always searching for something to do with our free time.

What about being entertained by something that changes you? What about getting messed up by something that is ok to get messed up by? How about enjoying and being enjoyed by someone who created you for that very reason? How about Divine Entertanment? Oh how we have filled ourselves with things that do not satisfy! We haved looked to everything except God for entertainment. No wonder we our so dull and boring. I think it’s time to seek our Maker for fun and entertainment! I mean that is why He created us isn’t it? I think if we could grasp the idea that God is the best form of entertainment, we would be seeing many more miracles and demonstrations of His power regularly. For instance: healing in public places, prophesy that changes peoples lives, souls being saved, dreams that last all night, visions that shake us and change us, getting messed up in His presence. We need to change our idea of entertainment. We need to seek for the promises of the Word. We need to experience the power of God regularly. How hungry are we really?

Isaiah 55:1-2 “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.”

I think I’ll let that passage speak for itself.

btw-brotha, be healed in Jesus name!

  2. Well said… I think about how God Commands us to “taste and see that the Lord is good” good post man!

  3. Amen, enter fellowshipping with the Holy Ghost!!

  4. Great post, Zach. You provoke me to stop drinking from broken cisterns. Ug.

I love Is. 55:1-2. The thought of drinking of Him feels delightful even just reading about it.

  5. I like to meditate on how God is in the intricate details of all things. Chastity and I were remarking on how we get vitamin d from sunlight, and how that stimulates calcium growth. How amazing is that? Another wonder is how our bodies use oxygen. Or what about eyesight, hearing or sense of taste? I sometimes think that pondering on things like that will be our many “wow” moments in eternity. Think about it, God has a bazillion (as if I could limit it to such a small number) more “wow” moments waiting for us.

    Now that is entertainment!
